There is no prettier spot in California than the quiet littlecily of Alameda, just over the bay from San FraociBCO, Notown OD the Coast has such streets, all of excellent macadam,smooth and clean. It ie an ideal place for driving and theonly wonder is that there are not more road drivers tbis is probably accounted for by (he fact that Alamedais only one of San Franciseos several bedrooms, and themale population of the town is on this side of the bay duringthe hours of daylight. However, there are many handsometurnouts owned in Alameda, and many roadsters that willcompare favorably wiih those of any city in the writer took a trip to the Alameda track one of thosemornicigs last week when the air was cold and crisp and theboard crosswalks were white with frost.
