Anti-depressant medication. Seroxat in liquid and tablet form. Seroxat is used in the treatment of depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It is part of the group of drugs known as Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). These work keeping serotonin levels in the brain constant by preventing its re- absorbtion. This has the effect of stabilising mood swings and lessening depression. Use of SSRIs such as Seroxat have been associated with sucidial tendencies in a small-number of people and some may experience severe withdrawal symptoms.
