The only true reds are probably either the black on red type or those instances where we have red on orange. Vessels showing a color range, for example, are (pi. 71, a, c, d), which vary from dark tones, Morocco Red (pi. 58) to Madder Brown (pi. 70), Brick Red (pi. 70), Kaiser Brown (pi. 71), and Hay's Russet (pi. 71). The lighter tones are more common. The oranges are Ferruginous (1 ), Vinaceous-Roufous () (pi. 71), and Ochraceous Tawny (yellow orange) (pi. 72).
