Bodhisattva, probably Padmapani Lokeshvara, Licchavi–Thakuri periods, 10th–11th century, Nepal (Kathmandu Valley), Gilt copper alloy, H. 11 7/8 in. ( cm), Sculpture, This bodhisattva, richly bejeweled and crowned, holds a flywhisk in his raised hand, indicating that he was designed to attend an image of the Buddha. Stylistically, this work belongs to the transitional post-Licchavi period, when eastern Indian Pala influences are evident in the greater adornment and elaboration of detail
