Utah Beach, Normandy, France. 5 June 2015. As the sun sets behind Utah Beach, historical parachutists using original style parachutes fall from C-47 planes as part of the D-Day Festival 2015. US paratroopers from 101 Airborne Division were dropped behind Utah Beach on the night of 5th June 1944 ahead of the D-Day landings the following day. Around 1000 people gathered at Utah Beach to commemorate the event as part of the D-Day festival 2015, which this year commemorates the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII in 1945.
