1824 First page (390) of William Buckland's \Notice on the Megalosaurus or great Fossil Lizard of Stonesfield\". Transactions of the Geological Society of London, series 2, vol 1: 390 -396. 1824 was a monumental year in paleontology seeing (in this volume) both Buckland's first scientific description of a dinosaur, Megalosaurus, and Conybeare's first validation and scientific reconstructions of Plesiosaurs and Ichthyosaurs. Gideon Mantell (who was at the meeting where this paper was read) had also discovered the first remains of Iguanodon and was preparing to publish."
