Zodiacs from the Australian expedition cruiser Orion approach tiny Kennedy Island, formerly Plum Pudding Island but renamed in honor of a famous castaway, John F. Kennedy, who sought refuge here with ten fellow survivors who swam ashore here when a Japanese destroyer rammed their torpedo boat (PT-109) in August, 1943, Solomon Islands.
