Cavers explore large passages in Cueva Coventosa, Cantabria, northern Spain

The magnificent Cueva Coventosa , near the village of Ramales de la Victoria in northern Spain is popular with cavers because of its many fine passages. Here a caver abseils down a rope, using single rope technique or 'SRT', while another uses a giant flashbulb to illuminate a large 'vadose' cave passage, formed in this shape as the water eroded the passage floor.
