On the afternoon of November 7 the regularsafety meeting on the Chicago Division washeld and it was our good fortune to have JohnHair present at this meeting. In the eveninga public meeting was held in the Eagles Hall,Garrett, and it is estimated that over 600 peoplewere present, the house being packed to capac-ity. On the evening of November 11 another meet-ing wa held in the Garrett City Hall, thismeeting being presided over by Mr. Wood. Thismeeting was held in order to acquaint the peoplewith war conditions and was largely pictures were shown at this meetingalso. This is not the first time we have heardMr. Wood speak and we were glad to have himwith us again. His speech was of the highestorder and a good impression was made withthe people of Garrett. Earnest Crow, who has been sick for a month,has improved and we hope to see him back athis desk in the division engineers office withina few days.
