The frame is of cast iron, towhich the soft steel pole pieces are bolted, the bolt headsall being below the surface of the frame. The shuntand series coils are in separate compartments. Thearmature core has ducts through which the air is drawnfrom the center by centrifugal force. The conductorsare rectangular copper bars embedded in grooves. Theend connections are made with flat copper ribbon. INDIANAPOLIS.
