The oldest son in every Egyptianhome is to die. Oh! Pharaoh had not thought of that. The story of how the loving God saves His people Israel. You remember, Pharaoh hardened his heart after each ofthe nine plagues. The tenth plague came. Every house wasto lose its oldest son. The angel of death was to kill them,in the home of Pharaoh as well as in the beggars home. But God wanted to save His people Israel. He said toMoses: Go to My people Israel. Tell every father to killa lamb, one year old. Then sprinkle the blood of the lambon the sides and top of the door of the house. When theangel of God comes at midnight, he will see the blood. Thenhe will pass over, pass by, that house. And all the peopleof Israel did so. They ate the meat of the lamb, too, in afamily feast. That was the Passover feast. Midnight came.
