Tiling rocket in 1932. Reinhold Tiling was a pioneering German scientist who experimented with solid-fuel rockets. In 1931 he launched four rockets, which reached altitudes of up to 2 kilometres. Later he successfully used a rocket to deliver mail between the East Fresian Islands and the mainland. In 1933 an explosion, whilst preparing one of his rockets, resulted in his death.
