A riding sword, in the Saxon style of around 1580. Double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section and fullers on both sides of the upper third. Blackened iron knucklebow hilt with angular bars and cut decorative balusters. The quillons are decorated with checkering. Leather covered grip over cord wrapping with engraved silver-plated sleeve.
