One of the last acts of her tired mind as she lay on her death bed was a thought of the welfare of her faithful employes, giving directions for their treatment after iier death, when she would no longer be present to guide them Although having passed the allotted three score years and ten. the world could ill afford to lose her. and yet, if in her career here below she points the way to better things by her upright and honest life, we will be- lieve that all is not vanity and bow to the dictates of an unknowable destiny.
