SASEBO, Japan (March 27, 2018) The Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) departs Sasebo, Japan, during the underway portion Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV). Chief is undergoing INSURV to examine the ship’s operational capabilities and readiness for future mine sweeping operations.
