In this manner the space ordinarily takenup by a transfer table is utilized for the erecting work and forthe storage of material taken from the locomotives. It permitsthe segregating of the stripping, wheeling, piping and paintingwork from the erecting shop proper and thus greatly increasesthe capacity of the plant.
