There is no trace of fire, nor of the lumberman. Probably in no accessible part of the province is there a finer forest, or one more nearly primeval than this. It is of the mixed growth of our common provincial species, and it is a fine sight to see the splendid spruce in sombre green towering above the level of the brighter green hard woods. This forest owes its preservation to the expensiveness of driving lumber down the crooked Little.
