A new Airfix model for 1962, part of a series of military vehicles in their ho/oo scale range. This is the rare first packaging art, which was modernised the following year. The model has been on sale ever since. It was released in a different box in America. Plastic model kits were a huge hobby during the 1950s to 1970s with children and more serious older modellers and while the interest has lessened since there is still a core market out there. Airfix are now part of the Hornby group.
