Foster, originally from Okeechobee, Florida, received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of third award) May 2, 2018 for meritorious service while serving as a master diver at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Eleven until March 2018. Additionally, he is recognized for having managed the execution of anti-terrorism and force protection, surface supplied and reconnaissance dives totaling 15,293 minutes of bottom time.
