Bronze sculpture of three broad- shouldered shipyard workers on their way to the entrance to the Elsinore shipyard, now a museum


The Shipyard Workers - full-sized bronze sculpture of three broad-shouldered shipyard workers on their way to the entrance to the hard work at Elsinore Shipyard, now a museum, at the Culture Yard (Kulturværftet) close to the underground Maritime Museum built in the old dry dock. The sculpture made by the Faroese sculptor, Hans Pauli Olsen, consists of four figures, the last one is a giant placed further behind. The first of the three workers is an older man, behind him a man in the prime of life, and hindmost the strong and youthful apprentice. The sculpture is from 2014 and is financed by D/S Norden, D/S Orients Fond, Torm Fonden, Lauritzen Fonden (all shipping company foundations) and the Museums of the municipality of Helsingør (Elsinore). Signs in windows say Ship Yard Museum (Værftsmuseum).
