The smaller type shown is rect-angular in shape, and does not demand a detailed explanation. Curio tables,shaped in plan, are also frequently made, the top made in segments, with curvedframes fitting between the legs. When an elliptic or kidney shape is employed,a special hinge must be made. This is fixed at the centre, and is made of extrawidth ; owing to the curved rail and top, not more than one can be used, and it isfor this reason that the hinge flaps are made longer than the ordinary type.
