Inside this tall tower there is placedin an upright position the Eddy Companys giant sulphite pulpdigester. The big digester is made of steel plate one inch thick, and the whole great boiler is forty-seven feet tall and fifteenfeet in diameter. The same process of cooking the chips iscarried on in this digester as takes place in the smaller ones youread of last week, but this digester is blown off instead ofshovelled out when the cooking is complete.
