Should a less expensive room be desired, use felt paper on the walls instead of Wide Doorways -*t|l_IMPI<ICITY and elegance are the order of the day. The wide doorway on left has a shaped valance, with a pair of straight curtains of old gold velonrappliqued with illuminated leather in heraldic design. The valance has fringe at edge. This effect issuitable for a library or dining room and harmonizes particularly with mahogany or oak. The doorway on the right, with arch below cornice, has a shaped valance and straight curtains of?deep red plain material embroidered with gold wreaths. The valance is finished across the top withsmall festoons of cords and tassels mixed with gold. This treatment is adapted for a reception or musicroom in colonial and empire style. White woodwork is preferable.
