Hennessy is assigned to the Naval Reserve F/A-18A+ Hornet squadron, the "River Rattlers" of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Zero Four (VFA-204). The Hornets were performing the duties as adversary aircraft for a training mission with F-14D Tomcats assigned to the "Black Lions" of Fighter Squadron Two One Three (VF-213) during their Strike Fighter Advance Readiness Program (SFARP).
