Themean temperature was below normal owing to cool conditions were adverse on growing and maturingcrops, and also hindered the progress of preparing the landsfor fall seeding, the ground having been too dry to plow,although when, about the middle of the month a general rainoccurred,seeding operations were pushed and some oats, ryeand barlej were sown.
