BETHANIA. SESQUI-CENTENNIAL PREACHERS AND SKETCHES JOHN CHRISTIAN JACOBSON was born in Den-mark 1795. With his wife (m. n. Schnall) he be-gan his pastorate at Bethania 1820. In 1834he took charge of Salem Female Academy, andabout ten years later became Principal of Naz-areth School, Pa. In 1849 ne was called toBethlehem, Pa., where he served as a memberof the Provincial Elders Conference. He wasordained Bishop in 1854. He died in 1870. Hisson, Rev. H. A. Jacobson, is Office Editor ofThe Moravian, published in the NorthernProvince. GEORGE FREDERICK BAHNSON was born inDenmark 1805. He was educated in 1829 he emigrated to the United States andfive years later began his ministerial career. Thetwo congregations in which he labored longestand with most success were Lancaster, Pa., andSalem, N. C. He was pastor at Bethania from1834 to 1838. He was consecrated Bishop ini860. He died a few weeks after his returnfrom General Synod in German
