Fort Vasquez located on Hwy 85 near Platteville, Colorado. Established in 1837 by Louis Vasquez and Andrew Sublette Maintained as a post until 1842 for trading of buffalo robes and beaver pelts with the Arapahoe and Cheyenne Indian nations Also for a rendezous for furtrappers Located on the Platte River and served as a post for emigrants during the gold rush of 1859.
