It would be tedious to follow the committee in all the minutiae ofthe preparations. Let it suffice to say that every member cheerfullybore the variety of tasks imposed upon him. As the anniversary ap-proached, these tasks of course multiplied, and for days in advance ofthe celebration required well-nigh constant attention. In the meantime the Pageant Committee and its several sub-com-mittees were busy and the firemen were actively preparing for theirimportant share in the programme.
