Describing that awfulspectacle, Mr. Embry said: The men for themost part had their skulls crushed, smashed,and the brains were lying on the snow. Thefaces were mutilated by gun shots at close the larger pile of dead bodies the topmostfigure was that of a young girl, seventeen oreighteen years of age.
