Chitina, Alaska - Mike Winter at the fish wheel he uses to catch red salmon from the Copper River. The fish wheel's baskets rotate in the river's current, and salmon are caught in the baskets as they swim upstream. Use of fish wheels in Alaska is restricted to subsistence fishing.
