Mason at Hintonburg, Ont., is expected to be in operation early this month. —James Bennoch, lumber merchant, Stratford, Ont., has sold out to Brown & Company, Limited, of St. Marys. —Jessie Seygley, of Pelee Island, Ont., while run- ning a portable saw mill on his farm, fell on the saw and was killed. —The North Bruce Lumber Company, of Lion's Head, Ont., met with the misfortune of having their tug "Gertie ; burned. —The name of Graham, Home & Company, Limited, Mine Centre, Ont., has been changed to the Mine Centre Lumber Company, Limited. —The Frank Perry Lumber Company, of Tuckersall, in the Lake Superior district, recently took about 100 men to their timber limits about fifty miles north of Michipicoten, Ont., where operations will be carried on this winter. —Mr. Davidson has purchased forty acres of land for his proposed woodenware factory at Haileybury, Ont. It is understood that he is negotiating for a timber limit. The factory is not likely to be built un- til next year. —The Algonquin Company, Limited, has been incor- porated, with head office in Toronto and a capital of $300,000. It is proposed to operate timber limits and saw mills and engage in the destructive distillation of wood and the manufacture of bi-products. The direc- tors of the company are: Thomas Minton, F. Sinclair, William Bullock, John Creighton and G. T. Bullock, all of Toronto. —It is understood the management of the Lake Superior Consolidated Company are considering the
