Bank Indonesia (BI) is the central bank of the Republic of Indonesia. This bank has another name De Javasche Bank that was used during the Dutch East Indies. As a central bank, BI has a single objective, which is to achieve and maintain the stability of the rupiah. The stability of the rupiah value contains two aspects, namely the stability of the currency value of goods and services, and the stability of the currency of other countries. BI is also the only institution that has the right to circulate money in Indonesia. (Photo by Richard James M. Mendoza/Pacific Press)
