One of the showiest and most effective hardy plants, growing about two feet high; beginning to flower in June they continue one mass of bloom the entire season. The large flowers are of gorgeous coloring. The centre is dark red-brown, while the petals are variously marked with rings of brilliant scarlet-crimson, orange and vermilion.
