Hundreds of Shia Turkmen from Mosul and Tal Afar escape ISIS violence and take shelter in the Shrine of Magham Imam Reza in Khazna Village, 10 miles east of Mosul. The sudden displacement has resulted in shortages of and food, water, and medicine, with many refugees succumbing to illness and heatstroke. In recent days ISIS has destroyed Shrines and holy sites throughout northern Iraq.
