Some of the commonestbacterial diseases of plants are, fire-blight, crown-gall,olive-knot, soft-rot of vegetables, potato-scab, cucum-ber-wilt and black-log of potatoes. Fungi (see Vol. Ill) are perhajjs responsible for farthe greater number of the diseases of plants.
