Feather duster worm (Sabellastarte sp.), a tube-dwelling species with two fans of white or purple tentacles projecting from the front of the body.


Like other members of the family, withdraws its tentacles into the tube if disturbed. Once thought to be the same as the Northern Hemisphere species Sabellastarte indica, but probably is distinct. Occurs abundantly on reefs in areas of good current flow.
