Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey, UK. 5th Dec, 2020. British Airways announced the immediate retirement of their fleet of Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets in July 2020 due to the impact on air travel by the COVID 19 pandemic. Since then the planes have flown to various sites for storage and scrapping, with just a handful left in one piece. Three 747s had been painted in retro schemes to celebrate the airline's centenary in 2019, one of which – G-BNLY in 1980s 'Landor' blue/grey – was at risk of scrapping but today flew in from Cardiff for non-flying film work and display at Dunsfold, for Aviation Filming Ltd
