But for this it would be one of the mostperfectly beautiful of living forms. Intermediate to some extent, perhaps, between theOryxes and the Eoan antelopes is the curious Addax, acreature confined in its distribution to the northern halfof Africa, to the Sahara Desert, and the more fertilecountries on the northern and southern fringes of thatwaste. The Addax also offers points of resemblance tothe Cervicaprines. Its ears do not attain the sameextravagant length as is characteristic of the Eoan andsome oryx antelopes.
