Affpuddle in Dorset, England with 13th century church locates George Washington's roots, and beside the River Piddle or Puddle


The village of Affpuddle is located on the River Puddle or Piddle, nowadays consisting of thatched cottages and houses and including a disused mill beside a 13th century church. George Washington's ancestry can be traced here. John Lock, who gave evidence at the trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs lived in the village.
