William Snow Miller (1858-1939), US anatomist, in his laboratory looking up from a microscope. Miller was Professor of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin, USA. He was a specialist in lung anatomy, with his major work being 'The Lung' (1937). He was also a historian of medicine, assembling a library ranging from classical anatomical works to medical biographies, and holding seminars on the history of medicine (the Wisconsin Medical History Seminar). Miller's collection of medical texts is held by the Ebling Library of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
