Muxía, Spain: Monument “A Ferida” (the Wound) by artist Alberto Bañuelos commemorating the volunteers who cleaned the Galician beaches from the "Prestige" oil spill in November 2002. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, the sculpture sits on a hill next to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Boat. The village of Muxía, on the Northern Atlantic Ocean, is one of the final destinations for pilgrims on the Way of St. James after visiting the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
