Of course, Standard Piimpinir En^nes are designed primar- ily to Kive the best possible water supply in tbe greenhouse or in the field, no matter what the circuihstances, but our long :ex(«rience in furnishing irrigation systems has enabled us to develop special features that make the y < '. SUNDURD PUMPINB ENSINE particularly well adapted to service of this kind. The accompanying illustration shows the special valves thiat-we bare designed to enable our pumping units to take liauid fertilizers into the irrigation systems and distribute them over a field with the water. Thisisaccom- plislied by means of a special regulating inlet ' valve, which can be adjusted to take in a definite quantity of fertilizer with the given amount of \tater. In the Deep Well Pumping Engines we Jiave a special pump, which is mounted on the base of the machine itself, for pumping the fertilizer into the discharge pipe line against the pressure, and we thus secure the same distribution in the Deep Well pump as is accomplished in the Suction Lift pump. A person experienced with work of this nature will readily appreciate the great saving of time by distributing KTtilizer in this way, as well as absolute safety in securing a proper dis- tribution of the fertilizer to all parts of the Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Chicago : Florists' Pub.
