Robert Pershing Wadlow (1918-1940). Born in Alton, Illinois, he remains, to this day, the tallest man in medical history. He is seen here with actresses Maureen O'Sullivan (left) and Ann Morris (right). By the time of his death, Wadlow had grown to 8 feet inches.
