He was seperated from his parents and seven brothers and sister whom he has never seen since. He was with an aunt who brought him back home 1996. She died when he was 18 in primary 6 and he dropped out of school because he could not afford the school fees. He lived as a street boy until getting involved with the programme. As a result of the project he has been able to farm the land he inherited from his father, pay back 300,000 francs reparations for goods looted by his parents during the genocide, and renovate three small shops belonging to his parents in the village.
