Dragon incense burner, Temple of Confucious, Hanoi, Vietnam


The temple of Confucius was build in 1070 in Hanoi, North Vietnam by Emperor Lý Thánh Tông. Confucius was a strong proponent of the cultivation of knowledge and this temple, dedicated to Confucius, was the site of Vietnam's first national university from 1076 to 1779. The dragon incense burner stands in front of the mail hall.
