The Perkiomen Branch Railroad, following the line of this creek,extends at present twenty-three miles in a north-easterly direction to-wards Allentown, its prospective terminus. When completed, this roadwill form a new and attractive pleasure route between Philadelphia andall points in the Lehigh Valley, one of the most picturesque regions inthe State, to Northern Pennsylvania and Central and Western New SCHUYLKILL RIVER ABOVE POTTSTOWN, PENN. Phoenixville is situated at the mouth of French Creek, which flowsthrough a remarkably fertile valley. This is the terminus of the Pick-ering Valley Branch Railway, extending back eleven miles.
