Sanana mine, Guinea, 2nd May 2015; This village and local area will be flooded by the dam. Sanana mine, 12 km from Gbderedou Baranama village, will be flooded by the Fomi dam. Women collect ore rejected by miners and grind and wash this to extract whatever small amounts of gold they can find. Mariam Conde, 6 children, just started work again here after being ill. She also farms, but this is the season for mining - farming starts in the rainy season.
