Landgirl's Day- Everyday Life and Agriculture in West Sussex, England, UK, 1944 29 year old Land Girl Rosalind Cox (centre) and her colleagues enjoy an evening of coffee, sandwiches and gossip in the candle-lit interior of 400 year old Prattendens Cottage in Bury, West Sussex. The cottage was occupied by the radio star Mabel Constanduros before the war. These get-togethers occur every Monday evening, giving the Land Girls the opportunity to relax and talk to one another.
