Bartlow Hills, Cambridgeshire, UK: Mound III (L) & Mound IV (R) of seven (four remain) late C1st/early C2ndAD burial mounds containing imported high status personal items along with ritual and ceremonial objects connected with feasting and sacrificial offerings. Probably a cemetery of Romanized native Britons or Roman citizens of Celtic extraction. Mound III is the tallest/largest burial mound in Britain. Some suggest Boudicca (Boadicea), ruler of the Iceni defeated by the Romans, was buried here.
