Three jovial police officers stand guard at a pathway to the beach near Cape Town. They are tough but also friendly. Most officers carry guns and you can see their holsters strapped to their waist.
On hot days, young black teenagers like to take beer and cannabis to the beach. Rival gangs often fight too. The police are stationed on paths to the beach to keep law and order.
